About Us

Ray of Sunshine Morning, After School, and Early Years Services is a multi-award-winning childcare provider supporting children from infancy through to 12 years of age. We are proud to offer high-quality, flexible, and affordable care through both our early years and school-age services, designed to meet the real needs of today’s families.

Founded in 2015 by Amanda Spiteri, Ray of Sunshine was created in response to the lack of accessible childcare options for working and studying parents. Amanda brings over a decade of on-the-floor experience engaging directly with children and families, with a passionate commitment to providing nurturing, developmentally rich environments.

Amanda’s strong academic background underpins the ethos of Ray of Sunshine. Her qualifications include Early Years Education, a Degree in Public Policy from University College Dublin (UCD), a Certificate in Therapeutic Play from the Children’s Therapy Centre (CTC), Six Bricks Level 1 and 2 Training, and a Master’s in Psychotherapy and Counselling—bringing both depth and breadth to the care and support we provide.

Amanda is also the author of _Everyday Hiccups & Challenges: Guiding You Through Real-Life Adventures_, a book designed to offer insight and guidance through everyday life experiences. Found on amazon.

From one service in Wicklow Town, Ray of Sunshine has grown to 9 locations, offering both early years and school-age services. We now employ approximately 100 full-time and part-time staff, all dedicated to delivering excellence in care, education, and emotional wellbeing for every child.

Our services are embedded within school and community settings, with ad-hoc and flexible options designed to support SAC parents and carers balancing work, study, or family commitments. Ray of Sunshine is especially proud to offer a holistic, supportive environment that grows with the child — from their early years right through their primary school journey.

We’ve been honoured with numerous awards, including both Gold and Silver Awards for Best Business Working with the Community at the All-Ireland County Council Awards, and we proudly hold a five-star business accreditation.
